Ethical responsibility within business practices refers to the obligation of companies to conduct themselves in a manner that aligns with moral and societal norms. Here are some key aspects that Smartlift have adopted as part of fostering its own ethical outlook and responsibilities:
Transparency and Honesty: Here at Smartlift, we are transparent about our operations, products, and services. We believe honest communication builds trust with customers, employees, and stakeholders.
Fair Treatment: Treating our employees, customers, and suppliers fairly is essential. This includes fair wages, equal opportunities, and respectful interactions. To help with this we are implementing the use of outside independent platforms such as SEDEX and Ecovadis.
Environmental Stewardship: This will be touched on more within our sustainability section, with all our information about becoming a carbon neutral business and working towards a more sustainable future. We as a company have a responsibility to minimise our environmental impact. Implementing sustainable practices and products (Regen range), reducing waste, and conserving resources. All of this supports ethical responsibility and stems from the applications of our own ISO:14001:2015 management system, Which has been credited and subject to independent audits.
Social Responsibility: At Smartlift, we are involved with and committed to supporting the local community. As part of this commitment, we sponsor a wide range of local youth and adult sports teams (Heacham FC and Childrens football Team U12 Terrington Tigers) and further engage in community charities and causes such as the local food bank, the hospital Macmillian cancer care and race for life to name a few.
Legal Compliance: Ethical responsibility extends beyond legal requirements. We strive to exceed legal standards and uphold ethical principles. Legal compliance is a key feature of our ISO:9001 Quality System which helps drive our company forward. Additionally, it shields stakeholders, customers, and the environment from damage brought on by non-compliant actions.
